I first discovered my love for typography while studying graphic design at the Universidad de Buenos Aires in Argentina. What began as a casual interest in fonts quickly grew into an obsession—driven by a deep fascination with calligraphy and the expressive potential of letterforms. After graduating from university, I continued my studies through a series of trips to the United States, where I had the opportunity to learn from some of the world’s best calligraphers.
In 2008, I founded Lián Types, my own type foundry, mixing my interest in calligraphy with a rapid growth of knowledge in digitizing the most challenging curves. Since then, my typefaces have received recognition from prestigious typography competitions, been featured in “Best of Year” lists, and appeared in several magazines and books about design worldwide.
Today, the fonts available from Sproviero Type are used by brands like PepsiCo, Walgreens, Volkswagen, Netflix, and Club Atlético Independiente, as well as musical artists like BLACKPINK and Dolly Parton. All the while, I continue to teach gestural calligraphy—a welcome way to step away from the screen, find fresh inspiration, and let the ink flow.
